1-1 Sessions Terms and Conditions
1-1 sessions are carried out by a therapist or a creative practitioner working under “The Egg”, a service provided by The Eggtooth Project (Eggtooth) registered Charity (No. 1212509)
Our Therapists are covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance, under professional supervision and qualified to provide therapeutic services. Likewise, our Creative Practitioners are covered by our Public Liability Insurance, under professional supervision and highly qualified in their field.
The Eggtooth Project holds copies of your therapist’s or practitioners’ relevant qualifications and insurance.
Sessions
Each session’s duration will typically be between 50 and 60 minutes (although we reserve the right to amend the time for therapeutic reasons). The session fee of £55 fee will be payable prior to each session and you will receive an invoice in advance of your session. You can for individual sessions in advance, set up a Direct Debit, or you can pay for your block of sessions upfront.
If an organisation is paying on behalf of an individual client, they will be invoiced directly for the block of sessions and they should ensure that invoice details and relevant PO numbers are provided before the sessions start.
Sessions are normally weekly and are usually offered in blocks of 6 sessions.
The therapist or creative practitioner will listen to and consider all the information given by you and will provide their services to the best of their professional ability.
By sending a referral to Eggtooth you have contracted with us to provide our bespoke service where, after speaking to you, our referral team considers your referral and matches you with a type of therapy or creative activity and a Practitioner that we think meets your needs. This is a considered and therapeutically informed practice. With this in mind, you may not transfer from Eggtooth sessions directly to private sessions with the same practitioner before 12 weeks have elapsed from the beginning of these sessions.
Supervision
All of our professionals undergo regular professional supervision. This is to ensure that they/we provide an ethical and professional service to clients. They may discuss your case in supervision, but will ensure your details are kept confidential. Supervisors also operate under professional codes of practice.
Travel
The welfare of the client is the responsibility of them or their parent/carer while they are travelling to and from the session.
Cancellations and Missed Appointments
If you are unable to attend an appointment, your practitioner should be informed as soon as possible. The required notice for cancellation is 24 hours. Where there is less notice, or if you fail to attend the appointment, this will count as one of your allocated sessions, and you will not be refunded the session fee. If for any reason you are late for a session, your professional will be unable to work beyond the planned end time. If they are unable to attend an appointment, all endeavours will be made to give as much notice as possible. You will not be charged and your session will be rearranged at your earliest convenience.
If you repeatedly miss or reschedule sessions, your practitioner reserves the right to terminate the sessions.
Responsibility and Parental Responsibility
The client should understand that it is important for their safety that any rules and instructions given by staff are adhered to. If it is your child that is having sessions you should ensure that they understand the importance of this. We ask that parents always remain in the vicinity when sessions are taking place.
Whilst Eggtooth staff are in charge and will take all reasonable care for the client, unless they are negligent, they cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury arising during the session.
Confidentiality
It is vital therefore that you feel safe and can trust that everything discussed in your sessions will remain completely confidential. The content of all your sessions is confidential, and this applies to any and all records, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018, except in the following instances:
- Where you may give consent for confidence to be broken
- Where your practitioner is obliged to break confidentiality by a Court of Law
- Where information disclosed during a session is of such gravity that confidentiality cannot reasonably be expected to be maintained (eg. where there are reasonable grounds to believe that there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or in cases of terrorism)
If any of the above apply, your practitioner will discuss the need to break confidentiality with you.
Complaints Procedure
If you have any concerns about Eggtooth, these should be raised with your practitioner in the first instance (where appropriate). If you are not happy about the support you are receiving then you should contact Eggtooth’s Head Office (info@eggtooth.org.uk) so that your concerns can be discussed. It is usually helpful to voice your concerns as soon as possible after the event.
If you wish to make a formal complaint, this should be made to the Managing Director of Eggtooth. Eggtooth’s Complaints Policy and Procedure is available upon request.
